Bangkok overview

BangkokBangkok or Krung Thep was established as the capital of Thailand 223 years ago by King Rama I in 1782. Bangkok is located at the central part of Thailand, near the Gulf of Thailand and the east bank of Chao Phraya River which is the main River of Bangkok. Today, the tourists call Bangkok as the City of Angels because of Bangkok’s many attractions such as Temple, River and Shopping center. The population of Bangkok is about 6,000,000 (in 2005). Bangkok is the growth pole of the whole kingdom with total area of 1568.737 square kilometers.

Bangkok Weather

Bangkok has three seasons; Rainy from May to October, Winter from November to January and Summer from February to April. The average temperature is about 20-30 degree Celsius.

Bangkok Attractions

1. The Grand Palace The Grand Palace is amazing architectural construction. It is a large complex covering an area of 218,000 square meters which was built in the early years of Chakkri dynasty. 2. Wat Pho This large and extensive temple neighbors the Grand Palace on Thai Wang Road and houses the very impressive gigantic gold plated reclining Buddha which is some 46 meters long and 15 meters high. 3. Wat Phra Kaeo The Temple establishes the Emerald Buddha, the Upper Terrace and the Subsidiary Buildings on the north. The point we are at is the Upper Terrace in front of the Prasat Phra Dhepbidorn. 4. Wat Arun Wat Arun or Wat Arunrat Chawararam on the bank of Chao Phraya River is one of Landmark of Bangkok which is the big Pagoda. 5. China Town The large communities of China in Thailand, China town is the color of Bangkok which China foods, restaurant and culture. The peoples called China town as “The Golden Road” because on the Road has many gold shops. 6. Khao San Road Khao San Road is the mixture of foreign tourist and young local in a present day the street is very lively from cheap guesthouses, restaurants and nightlife. Example the popular food of Khao San Road is Padthai (Thai stir fried noodle) only 10 Baht. 7. National museum Bangkok Originally the Personal Museum of King Rama IV with a collection of antiques and Royal Gifts, King Rama V subsequently opened the Sahathai Samakom Pavilion (Concordia Tower) in the Grand Palace grounds as a Public Museum. 8. Chatuchak Market Chatuchak market or someone said Jatujak or short name JJ is the Worlds biggest weekend market location on Phaholyothin Road, North of Bangkok. Chatuchak Market is a paradise for shopping lover will open on weekend. 9. River dinner cruise In the past Chao Phraya River (River of King) was a way-of-life, Cha Phraya was a water resource for those people who live near the bank of the River. They like to build a house near river because it was comfortable for transportation. Chao Phraya is one of the attractions that attract tourists coming to Bangkok to receive nice experienced by river dinner cruises. 10. Siam Paragon Siam Paragon is the largest world-class shopping center of Asia. Siam Paragon was open at 9 December, 2005 the new shopping center of Bangkok which is Siam Ocean World, The Paragon Department, World Class and Exclusive retail Shop, The Gourmet market, The Royal Paragon Hall and World Class entertainment and attraction.
